Leo 1450 VP SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope)
- What type of electron detectors are on the system?  Silicon Diffused Junction.  N-type substrate
- Which stages are motorized and which are moveable by hand?  The stage is pulled out of the instrument by hand and loaded, then when closed the software can be used to move the stage.
- What is the resolution of the EDS detector? Do not know.  Have not used the EDS detector and the EDS is not working
- The EDS detector appears to be a silicon drift detector, can the seller confirm?  Silicon Diffused Junction
- What operating system is running?  The computer is Windows 7 Ultimate, the SEM software is Zeiss SmartSEM 
- What is the startup time from cold? What is the pump down time from idle?  The pump is never shut off (except when loading the samples) to keep moisture out of the microscope.  Once samples are loaded and the pump restarted, images can be obtained in 10 to 15 minutes, maybe faster.  There are 6 sample slots on the stage.
- Is the electron gun separated from the chamber when venting? Is the electron gun tungsten?  No and yes
- What type of pump does it have for the high vacuum?  Normal Edwards 12 vacuum pump 
- What are the smallest features that can be resolved with the microscope?  Magnification 15x to 300kx according to specifications.  We look at things in which we don’t need very high magnification so do not know how sensitive it can be.
